Thetford Forest
Project Overview
Thetford Forest, covers an area of 18,730 hectares and offers many different places to visit. It provides a range of attractions from the exciting outdoor play facilities at High Lodge to the history and heritage of Mildenhall Warren and Lynford Arboretum and the peace and tranquillity of the walks around Santon Downham. Timotay Playscapes worked with the setting to create a bespoke solution based upon the client’s vision and requirements.
The design and installation included musical items which were thoughtfully scattered throughout the forest for families and children to interact with on their journey throughout the space. This was designed to support sensory and sound development whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings
The Outcome
We have created zones with strong themes that allow the children to assess and choose which elements to engage with and progress onto, as their confidence grows.
This will help to keep the children interested and playing for longer, ensuring continued interest as they grow and visit in the future. In addition, the theming that the bespoke Thetford Forest elements provide will keep the Forestry England message of “Experience Nature at its finest” in their minds long after they leave.
