Pre-Prep School
Project Overview
We worked with an independent School, where they instil four key learning values – the four R’s, which infuses lively and imaginative teaching. The setting which is a a small pre-school outdoor space in central London to create a bespoke solution.
The Outcome
The space required a bespoke play feature that provided maximum play value in a limited and unusually shaped space, which supported the settings requirement for lively and imaginative play. It was also important to include useful storage area.
The solution that Timotay created, in partnership with the setting was a bespoke Playframe with immersive play feature, as well as a den to explore and growing beds. We also incorporated in a green roof and timber frame to give a natural feel.
Client Feedback
Due to the limited space within this setting, a careful plan was needed to ensure the team have the space to carry out their tasks safely. As there was a large climbing feature within the area to be removed. The existing structure was carefully dismantled, and timbers cut to length for safe disposal.
Timotay designed the climbing frames to be built off site within our workshop. Each panel was made to size to help the site team install the in ground supporting posts. The benefits of this was a reduction of time and disruption on site. Each timber section was pre cut to length off site to avoid long timbers being on site where space is limited.
