Indoor Woodland School Library
Project Overview
Eastbury Farm Primary School is a setting that is a centre of excellence: a safe, secure and caring environment where children welcome challenge and learn with enthusiasm and enjoyment.
Eastbury Farm Primary School and Timotay Playscapes had previously worked together and transformed the EYFS playground. The setting wanted to transform their conventional school library area into a stimulating space that was designed to drive imagination and inspires young readers.
The space needed to function as a library but needed to inspire and become a magical place for little learners and readers. The space is also situated next to the main entrance so needed to be a showstopper!
The Outcome
Timotay Playscapes and Eastbury Farm Primary worked together to create a bespoke design that met the objectives of the school.
The design and final indoor school library project included:
- New grass surfacing
- Rustic woodland seating
- Rustic shelving
- Raised platform
- Raised woodland reading den (creating space above and underneath)
- Rustic signage
- Woodland mural
The updated space creates a life-changing library, which inspires young readers and, provides a dedicated area for children to submerge themselves into the book that they are reading.
