Project Overview
This setting is an Independent School located in Twickenham. As a school, they are constantly seeking to discover and innovate, to strive for great achievement with a spirit of adventure, which is why an investment in their outdoor space was crucial. The School prides itself in creating endless new challenges for the children, and a culture that ignites the love of learning.
The Outcome
We worked with the client to create an inclusive all-weather area outdoor space and includes that reflected their incredible culture and ethos and created new opportunities and challenges within the outside area:
- MUGA (multi-use-games-area)
- Around-the-world wrap-around environment
- Magnetic interactive flip-tile wall
- Seating

I wanted to improve the outside area at my school which consisted of a rather dull tarmacked playground. I had some ideas of the sort of things I wanted but no clear vision of what this would look like in practice. We approached a number of companies to come up with designs including Timotay. Stuart and the team were the only people who were able to transform my half articulated ideas into an exciting and innovative design. They didn’t simply reach for off the peg solutions, which had been used many times before, but really grasped what I wanted to achieve. An inspiring, creative play space that would stimulate children but also prove attractive to prospective parents. The design went through various iterations and the design team always worked hard to come up with suggestions and solutions for the improvements I was asking for. The work was completed on time and on budget and we have been delighted with the finished product. The final playground is now something which inspires children and is a wow factor with current and prospective parents alike.
