Outdoor Space Investment Creates 25% Occupancy Increase
Bromley had a fantastic outdoor space spanning the two back gardens of the original houses that the site occupied. The outdoor play space for the nursery was a blank canvas.
Timotay proposed a new scheme for the garden which completed in January 2019, the areas included:
- Forest school play area
- Climbing frame
- Growing beds area
- Outdoor classroom/shelter
- Under 2’s area
- Artificial grass across the site
In the first month following the completion of the garden the nursery conducted 92 visits from prospects. This was an increase of 15 visits for the same period the previous year. The nursery also saw an increase of 7FTE from December to January. In the first 4 months following the playspace/ garden development, there was an increase in occupancy of 25% from 81 FTE to 104. The garden continues to provide a focal point for the marketing of the nursery and is always well received by parents, children and staff.
