SEND setting – transformation
Project Overview
A SEND setting were looking to create a unique outdoor space that allowed all of their pupils (7-11) to use the space. Inclusivity and accessibility was key to the design.
The school’s ethos is to tailor learning specific to the individual, to support the pupil’s learning. The design and outcome for the new sensory garden/ sensory playground needed to reflect this. The school wanted the area to be revitalised with new surfacing throughout, a running track placed around the MUGA pitch, the trampoline to be moved and new physical challenges to be brought in to stimulate the children
The Outcome
The finished playground/ sensory garden project included:
- Unique climbing structure
- Sensory panels
