Kingswood Nursery School Upgrade

Project Overview

The setting’s previous playground featured a wetpour surface and was the designated set out for the youngest children aged 2 and 3 years old. The setting described the areas as very sad, dirty and tree roots were beginning to pull it up in areas. It was time for a change and was extremely important to Kingswood that the areas needed to be an all-year-round, safe surface and playground.

As a small school without a caretaker, they needed their new area to be as maintenance-free as possible. Most importantly it needed to be fun, but with challenge and adventure for children. The setting is passionate about developing the children’s skills and encourage them to take managed risks.

The Outcome

During the consultation the Playground Consultant discussed objectives and the setting’s vision for space and a water feature was key. It is a great way to develop upper body strength, somewhere for the settings mud kitchen and the children had told us they wanted a tunnel and slide!
